Steps to complete the install of sound deadener to roof

Gather your tools and materials.

Prepare the roof for the application. You start by taking off the headliner. You need to use

caution with this step because you must put it back in place once you are finished.

The roof will most likely be quite dirty. Make sure you clean and degrease it well. Wipe it with a rag. Allow it to dry completely before moving on.

Now it’s time to install first layer of sound deadening (for instance, Noico 2mm) to the roof. We recommend adhering material in between reinforcement ribs, trying to cover as much roof surface as possible.

Once the material is on the surface, you are to firmly press it with aid of rolling tool. That will guarantee correct adhesion and increase sound deadening effect.

After you installed and properly rolled down the first layer, properly wipe the aluminum foil once again as there will be another layer going on top of it.

Now we install a second layer. That will be heat and noise insulation material. Optimum thickness for this material would be around 4mm (170mil) as our Noico Red. It’s best to apply this material across the entire roof without any gaps or splits. Do not overlap one sheet on top of other as this might create some clearance issues when you would be putting a headliner back.roof soundproofing, roof insulation, soundproof the car roof, car roof sound deadening

After the job is complete, you can put the headliner back in place. It might take some glue to get it back after installation process is done.

Is car roof sound deadening worthwhile? Absolutely!

There are some aspects of the car that allow in more noise than others; the roof is one of them. Wind hits the roof at incredible speeds and it’s subject to rain, hail or snow as well. All of this noise penetrates the roof and enters into the vehicle’s cabin. What you are left with is a noisy drive. With a little work, you can soundproof the car roof and hear your passengers or radio better.

The roof is also one of the main areas that affects the temperature of the car. When you insulate it correctly, you will keep the car more comfortable for you and your passengers.

Have great rides!
